How Did You First Start Playing Basketball?

I first began playing basketball with my two older cousins, Tony and Michael, in my front yard during summer vacations. I believe by the third grade I really began to love the game and started playing on my school’s CYO team.

Outside Of Playing Basketball, What Do You Like To Do?

I love playing on my drum set. Music has always been an important aspect of my life, and drumming is one of my favorite past times.

Who Are Your Biggest Role Models?

Above all, my parents are my biggest role models because they have shown me what it truly means to be a strong and responsible leader in the world. In addition to them, I would say other big role models of mine are former WNBA player Becky Hammon and recent New Paltz graduate Goldie Harrison. Throughout the season last year, Goldie was the team’s leader and her personality and overall toughness was really an inspiration to me.

Are You A Fan Of Any Professional Teams?

Honestly, I don’t keep up with the pros today. I watch a lot of Division I basketball on TV. It’s a lot more exciting to watch, in my opinion.

Do You Have Any Sports-Related Superstitions?

Well, I have wardrobe superstitions. I always have to wear my black headband and the correct socks and sports bras for each home and away game. I would feel “off” if I didn’t have my game day wardrobe in check.

What’s Your Favorite Sports Memory?

Off the top of my head, I would say I have two favorite memories. The first is my very first day of basketball practice here at New Paltz last season, and the second is our huge win in this year’s SUNYAC Championship when we upset Geneseo. That was really great.
