With the conclusion of the Student Association elections on Wednesday, April 23, the mandatory student activity fee was passed and current Vice President of Academic Affairs and Governance Ben Olsen was elected SA President.

The student activity fee was upheld to remain mandatory by a vote of 1,092 to 153.

Federal Law to Boost Student Loans

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Ensuring Continued Access to Student Loans Act of 2008 on April 17, by a vote of 383-27. Among other things, this bill would help students become eligible for up to $2,000 more annually in federal loans.
