Letter for Tobin

We are lucky to have an abundance of candidates for Village Trustee in this election cycle. I have already written to support William Murray and I am more than convinced that KT Tobin would be a superb addition to the Village Board. Together, they could make a significant difference to the governance of our village for the next four years, a very long time indeed.

Ms. Tobin is no stranger to public life here in New Paltz. She has played a very prominent role in many campaigns, both for elected officials and for ballot initiatives. She is a truly progressive person in her beliefs, her commitments and in her community life. She is also exceptionally well-informed: as assistant director of the Benjamin Center, she works on gathering and effectively disseminating information about many of the most pressing issues that affect the nation, the state of New York and our region and village. She is uniquely prepared to bring such an informed perspective to local government.

There is much work that needs to be done to keep New Paltz such a good place to live, and more in order to make it even better for more of us.

In this era of discordant and regressive national politics, Ms. Tobin will be a force for community building and effective government in New Paltz. I trust that you will join me in supporting her candidacy for Village Trustee by first promoting her campaign and then by voting for her on Tuesday, May 2.
