According to Jack Wade, “Tommy” is one of the most demanding shows SUNY New Paltz has ever done. “What’s funny about this show is that it comes off as being this trite kind of rock and roll show, but in terms of complexity, it’s one of the most complex we’ve ever done,” said Wade, the director of the show. “As they say, it’s a rock opera, so it has operatic proportions in every area. On April 16 and 17, the New Paltz Extreme Croquet Society was one of eight teams to compete in the 2011 USCA National Collegiate Championship held at Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, Pa. Despite it being New Paltz’s fourth year attending the national tournament, the team was able to place first in six wicket, breaking St. John’s College’s seven-year winning streak and also placing third in golf.
