The Oscars: Memorable Moments

1. Ellen’s Epic Selife

The A-List mid-Oscars selfie broke the record for the most retweets in photograph history, yielding 3.2 million to date, and crowded the social network so much that it succeeded in temporarily shutting down Twitter.

2. “Gravity” Blasts Off
The Sandra Bullock and George Clooney film space jammed in the technical category, taking home seven Academy Awards: Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, Best Directing and Best Cinematography.3. Lupita’s Loveliness

Lupita Nyong’o held the world in her hands in the form of a small gold statue as she delivered an impeccable acceptance speech for winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Patsey in “12 Years A Slave.”

4. Leo’s Lack Of Luck

Even after winning Best Actor for his role as Jordan Belfort in “The Wolf of Wall Street” during this year’s Golden Globes, Leonardo DiCaprio still hasn’t broken his unlucky streak of never having won an Oscar, and lost to Matthew McConaughey during this year’s Academy Awards.

5. Ice Cold Idina

The Broadway performer whose stellar vocals landed her leading roles in musicals like “Rent” and “Wicked” found herself freezing onstage as she sang the climactic power ballad from her most recent on-screen persona. Having played Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, audiences eagerly tuned in to hear Idina Menzel belt out “Let It Go,” but were disappointed  after hearing a pitchy and speedily-paced performance.
