As Taylor Swift continues her historic Eras Tour run, I decided to make this week’s Oracle playlist focusing on something very meaningful to me: which surprise songs Ms. Swift will perform when I see her at MetLife Stadium on May 27. She’s performed two acoustic songs at each show that nobody knows until the second she sings them. While most of the setlist has remained the same throughout the tour, these two are typically deep cuts from Swift’s discography. Most nights she has a concert, I watch a live stream of it from some random concertgoer’s shaky hand on TikTok to see what she ends up performing. These are my top ten songs that I would be more than happy for Swift to sing when I see her. I wanted to throw in a possible surprise guest appearance from The 1975 — but that may be a little too hopeful. I’m writing it in this, though, to maybe manifest it happening — in this hypothetical scenario they’d sing “About You,” of course. A surprise guest appearance from Phoebe Bridgers isn’t too far fetched considering that she’s the opening act that day and has a collaboration with Swift. Out of these, I think hearing her sing the outro of “The Other Side of the Door” would alter my entire life the most. “Cornelia Street,” too, even after the horrifying news from two weeks ago (R.I.P. Toe).
