What they do
If you love to sing and fight for what’s right, then Resisterhood Choir is calling your name. Resisterhood Choir is a group of women who resist against injustices by singing about positive messages. Part of the activist group Resisterhood, Resisterhood Choir aims to stand up for those who are marginalized and to lift up others in the community through acts of kindness. Resisterhood Choir believes that standing together in the name of equality will create the power for change.
How to Get Involved
Resisterhood Choir has performed at the Rosendale Street Festival, along with various other events and rallies. If you want to join alongside them in song, the activism group holds a choir practice every Thursday at 6 p.m. at the New Paltz Community Center. The community center is located at 3 Veterans Dr.

Ulster Activists
What They Do
Ulster Activists formed in January 2017 to challenge the Trump Administration’s attacks on human rights and the environment. Their mission statement is to “bring together concerned activists working to protect human rights and the environment.” Ulster Activists work relentlessly to educate themselves on our nation’s issues, to distribute resources and information and to organize activities.
How to Get Involved
Ulster Activists meet monthly on the second Sunday of the month from 4-6 p.m. at the New Paltz Village Hall, located at 25 Plattekill Ave. On Saturday, Sept. 21, Ulster Activists will host the “Zero Emissions Protest and March” from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. As part of the global climate strikes, the march will begin at Tops and end at the SUB.
