What They Do
Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) was founded in 1998 and is an international non-profit organization. Their mission is to educate, advocate for and discuss reforming drug policy in the United States. New Paltz SSDP is a group of students dedicated to ending the war on drugs. You may have seen SSDP members at their table at Thursday’s farmers market, where they take the opportunity to inform the SUNY New Paltz student population about sensible drug policy.
How to Get Involved
The SUNY New Paltz SSDP meets every Thursday at 7 p.m. in SUB 402. Additionally, you may visit their table at the farmers market on Thursdays. Research SSDP and its history to learn more about sensible drug policy and what it means to you.

What They Do
New Paltz Updates is an Instagram account that posts about upcoming events, meetings and incidents in New Paltz and the surrounding area with a focus on activism and politics. The account was created because the founder believes that updates on police brutality, climate change strikes and community events like Food Not Bombs are highly imperative. Additionally, New Paltz Updates sets out to support the campus and town community and they are in the process of creating an activist network or coalition to bring together local clubs and organizations.
How to Get Involved
