What They Do
Peace Action NYS at New Paltz is a grassroots organization dedicated to building a human rights culture and valuing human needs over the exercise of militarism. The members of this group value the promotion of resolving conflict in non-violent manners, the abolition of nuclear weapons and halting the spread of conventional arms, in addition to the assistance of refugees.

What They Do
AWARENESS Inc. is a nonprofit program that offers people between ages 16-25 non-judgmental, peer-to-peer education to help with behavior modification. This organization is “in relationship with the legal system that ensures accountability on many levels for low level criminal charges, such as underage drinking, possession of illegal drugs, disorderly conduct” and more, according to member Orianna Soriano.

Meetings take place every Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the New Paltz United Methodist Church at 1 Grove St.
