On April 16 and 17, the New Paltz Extreme Croquet Society was one of eight teams to compete in the 2011 USCA National Collegiate Championship held at Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, Pa. Despite it being New Paltz’s fourth year attending the national tournament, the team was able to place first in six wicket, breaking St. John’s College’s seven-year winning streak and also placing third in golf. Piling Up Victories

One of the most successful athletic stories of the year comes from the New Paltz Men’s Rugby team. The club team, which plays mainly in the fall with some “friendly matches” and tournaments during the spring, are coming off a very successful year where they beat college rivals and fell short at the SUNY Division II Championships by seven points.
