The men’s volleyball team defeated No. 15 Juniata College 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-17) on Friday, March 3 in the Hawk Center.
First-year setter Matthew Grace dished out a match-high 31 assists to give him 726 in his first collegiate season. Fourth-year co-captain Jake Roessler had 13 kills and two blocks, while fourth-year co-captain Steven Woessner notched his season high of five service aces along with three kills and four blocks.
The Hawks were tied at 21-all in the first set and went on a 4-2 run to win the set and went on a big run in the second set after being down 21-16 to keep the sweep alive. New Paltz never trailed in the final set, winning 25-17 for a 3-0 sweep.
The Hawks bumped their record up to 17-4 with the win and will gear up for a UVC Crossover this weekend at home. The weekend will feature matchups against Elmira College at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11 and Bard College later in the day at 4 p.m.
