What’s your instrument of choice and why?
My voice. I’ve also been taking piano
lessons since I was 8 years old. I like the power of the piano because it has always forced me to project my voice.
What are you involved with musically?
I am a member of the all-female acapella group on campus called The Sexy Pitches. I also take piano lessons at home.
One of my biggest musical influences is Beyoncé. She can hit a riff like no other and she always carries herself in such a strong and powerful way.
Who have you been listening to lately?
I’ve been listening to India Arie’s new album that came out over the summer. The whole album is a journey of self-reflection.
I wouldn’t say I have a specific plan. I know that music will be involved in some way but I’m just not sure how yet.
Always break your comfort zone because eventually the uncomfortable will become comfortable.
