In an effort to support the heartbeat of the Hudson Valley, New Paltz Marketing is offering free informational websites to small businesses in and around New Paltz. Through this new initiative, the agency hopes to help entrepreneurs build a professional web presence and strengthen their local visibility with no contracts and no pressure.
The program, launched this spring, is designed specifically for local business owners who either don’t have a website or are struggling with outdated pages that no longer reflect their brand. New Paltz Marketing, a full-service digital marketing agency, is offering fully custom-designed, mobile-optimized informational websites at no cost. These websites, built with WordPress and professional tools like Elementor and SiteGround hosting, are meant to give small businesses a modern, credible foundation without requiring a financial investment up front.
“We care about small businesses,” said Dean Lambros, founder of New Paltz Marketing. “The free website is an informational website…There’s no SEO, there’s no depth, there’s no anything else. But for many people that don’t have a quality informational site, it’s a problem,” Lambros added.
Each free informational website includes essential pages like an “About Us” section, a service list, a gallery and a contact form — simple, clean and designed to reflect the heart of each business. But what really makes the process different is how personal it is.
Rather than just handing over a template, the team at New Paltz Marketing works one-on-one with each business owner, often meeting them in their shops, on video calls or even over coffee down at Water Street Market to better understand what they do and how they want to be seen. One local landscaper, for example, didn’t even have a logo or photos when he started. The team helped him pull together what he had, spun up a logo, wrote a solid intro for his “About Us” page and turned a cell phone-shot photo gallery into a professional-looking portfolio.
Even though these free sites don’t come with deep search engine optimization or content marketing, they’re built with tools that allow for future growth. And just as importantly, business owners are shown how to update their new websites themselves. This way, they’re not locked out of their own story. For those who’d rather not touch the tech, the team offers optional maintenance support, keeping things affordable and transparent.
The free website initiative is designed to provide long-term value without strings attached. The sites are owned outright by the businesses, and there are no hidden fees, subscription requirements or pressure to upgrade. If a business chooses to remove their website from their system, they’re happy to hand it back smoothly and ensure full ownership and control is returned.
“We want to also be transparent,” Lambros said. “We would like you to get in on the free and, without trying to hide the fact that we’re hoping you would upsell and look to us for more services if you felt like the services you were paying for were good.”
“And on top of it, if you never wanted to upgrade and leave us at all, the website would stay free. You could just get the value of the informational site, leave it on there. We gain a great portfolio item,” Lambros added.
In a region where many small businesses still rely on social media alone or outdated web tools, New Paltz Marketing’s initiative aims to close the digital gap. According to a 2023 study from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, small businesses with a modern web presence are nearly three times more likely to experience revenue growth than their offline peers.
The offer is open to all local businesses, but priority will be given to those located in New Paltz, Kingston, Highland and nearby towns, especially those with demonstrated financial need or a substantial impact on the community. Spots are limited, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
