We are The Little Rebellion, a student-run online publication from the digital media and journalism department at SUNY New Paltz.
We cover everything from local news and politics to entertainment and sports, featuring dynamic multimedia elements within each article. By integrating video, audio, data visualization and more, we aim to bring each story to life and incorporate new ways of storytelling into traditional journalistic standards.
While we are busy writing and creating our own content for the site, much of what is published comes from up-and-coming journalists, photographers and videographers studying at SUNY New Paltz. That’s right, we take submissions! If you have work that has not previously been published, you can e-mail us your work in an attachment to thelittlerebellion@gmail.com. We accept news, sports, features, opinion, arts and entertainment as well as literary journalism submissions. We’d love to showcase your work.
In addition to being posted on the website, our stories are featured on our Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat accounts. We’re proud of what we publish, and we want to share it with as many people as possible. Our goal is to shed light on stories we think are important and relevant to the region while engaging readers with a fresh perspective. Check us out and take part in New Paltz’s own little rebellion.
