Rob’s Bodacious Burgers

One of The Oracle members shares their culinary chops with you. Bon appetit!

Transitioning to a vegetarian, one thing I worried I’d miss is red meat. It’s easy to replicate chicken, but veggie burgers can be hit or miss. Thankfully, I’ve found the holy grail of non-meat patties. After a little experimenting, I’ve constructed the best of both worlds: breakfast and dinner. Here’s what you’ll need to make Rob’s Bodacious Burgers.

1 – Morning Star Farms Grillers Veggie Burger

1 – Egg sunny side up

2 – Morning Star Farms Veggie Breakfast Bacon Strips

2 – Slices of provolone cheese

¼  – Tomato chopped into medallions

1 – Hamburger bun or your choice of bread

Salt, pepper and ketchup to your liking

While you can realistically put the burger directly on a frying pan, I prefer to heat it in the microwave for 45 seconds on each side first. Once on the pan, cook on both sides for 4-6 minutes on medium to medium high heat. Right before it is about to be done, apply the cheese and cover for another minute to minute and a half.

After the burger is complete (or while it is cooking, if you’re good at multi tasking like I am not), crack an egg and apply two pieces of your veggie bacon. Once complete, put it right on top of the burger. Chop some tomato up, put salt, pepper, ketchup and you got yourself one bomb burger. As for the bun or bread, it is good toasted or untoasted.

Drink with a nice frosty LaCroix Water and a bag of Bugles and you’ve got yourself a nice, wholesome meal.
