Don’t Pass on Smash Shack, New Burger Joint Opens

Will the Smash Shack be a smash hit? The new burger joint hopes to offer an experience somewhere between a sit-down restaurant and a fast food franchise. Photo courtesy of Smash Shack.

Smash Shack, a new burger place, has opened on Main Street in New Paltz. The owners of another local favorite, Mexican Kitchen have decided to purchase the space formerly known as the Taco Shack and renovate it to open their new burger joint.

Located at 255 Main Street, Unit 2, Smash Shack features indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a friendly staff who will greet you at the door with a smile.

As opposed to a regular restaurant opening, they decided to start small with a soft opening with limited promotion on social media to get their staff acquainted with the responsibilities and ensure everything flowed easily.

The owners spoke with a local radio station about where their idea came from. They shared that they felt the community was in need of a quick burger place that wasn’t quite sit down and super fancy, but at the same time was not drive-through fast food. Their new place is located right near larger franchises, McDonalds and Burger King, so it’s just as convenient.

The wide menu features burgers with an array of different toppings to choose from. Some include the Blazing Burger, with blue cheese, buffalo sauce and lettuce. Another delicious option is the Garden Burger, including an impossible burger patty, lettuce, tomato, mushroom and house-made vegan sauce.

If you’re not a fan of burgers, they also offer chicken sandwiches. You can choose from the Tennessee Chicken Sandwich or the Bee Burger. More options are available online.

Your order would not be complete without a side of fries. They offer classic or cajun style fries in multiple sizes, with dipping sauces to match.

Their menu doesn’t stop there. They also feature some options for those that aren’t in the sandwich mood. You can choose from chicken tenders, or grilled cheese, each accompanied by a side of fries. For the little ones, they offer a kids-size burger which additionally comes with fries.

If you’re looking for a job, you’re in luck, Smash Shack is hiring. You can find information about how to apply on their Facebook page, facebook.com/smashshacknp Smash Shack offers online ordering which makes trying it easier than ever. They are open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. every day. You can order on the app, DoorDash, or online at www.doordash.com/store/smash-shack-llc-new-paltz-2859908/.

Next time you’re craving a burger, try Smash Shack for some quality food and service.
