A smiling Brittany Bennett, 22, of Smithtown, N.Y. seems ready for winning or losing. But of course, winning is more fun for her. Bennett, the captain of both the Women’s Lacrosse and Women’s Soccer teams at SUNY New Paltz, said she aims to beat as many SUNYAC teams this season to make the 2011 SUNY Athletic Conference playoffs. The Hawks currently have a 5-5 record. Tennis Team Aims for Divisions

With a current record of 13-4, the New Paltz Tennis team is hoping to finish the final three matches in their spring season and compete in the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships in May. Head Coach Robert Bruley said he believes their spring season has been a lot tougher than the one they finished this fall, due in part to the non-conference games against private schools the Hawks have faced.
