A Playlist For… Winter’s Approach

It seems that all I am able to contribute to The Oracle’s Arts and Entertainment Playlist as its Editor-in-Chief is a collection of songs that, to me, feel like the changing of seasons from fall to winter. Eerily close to a year ago today, I compiled a Playlist for … Midwest Winters. This year I’ve got one for winter’s approach. This year specifically has felt very odd with days where the temperature’s high is 40 degrees and then days where the high is 70. It almost feels fake at times. But still, the falling of leaves as trees shed themselves for incoming cold has an innate beauty that juxtaposes with the confusing nature of our weather. I see that surrealism as the root for the tone of this playlist. This time around we are not quite as full of angst, but it doesn’t mean I’m any less willing to fill my ears and the ears of anyone around me with some depressing, gut-wrenching music! Have fun with this one y’all!
