The SUNY New Paltz Athletics Department has named a new Athlete of the Week, Gaby Treble, a third-year forward on the New Paltz’s women’s soccer team.

Treble is currently the runner-up for goals (6) and points (12) on the team, along with recently becoming the program’s single-game record holder in both categories, netting four in the team’s recent game against the Buffalo State Bengals, where the Hawks were victorious 9-0. She totaled eight points for the match. She was additionally named SUNYAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, having had a great performance in the Hawks’ Scranton match earlier that week, putting in one goal.

“Our season is going really well so far and that is a complete testament to our entire team and the work we all put in last spring as well as over the summer,” said Treble, who has been a key member of the Hawks lineup for two years now. “Being a part of this program means more to me than I will ever be able to explain.”

Last season, Treble appeared in all of the Hawks games, starting in five. She recorded six goals and totaled 13 points. This year she has already reached the six-goal mark and holds 12 total points, but she doesn’t intend to stop there.

“Every day I wake up excited to play the sport I love with my closest friends,” said Treble. “I’m so grateful to represent and help my team achieve what we all set our minds to.”
