The incoherent collections of words and reminders represent another universe — opening my Notes iPhone app is like opening a door to a forgotten world. By scrolling through pages and pages of hastily-typed quotes, or split-second moments of genius, I can trace a self-narrative of sorts. Many are amusing, some dramatically morose, but most are incoherent without much-needed context. The elimination of context, except for the date and time stamp, makes the notes app a fascinating bundle of neuroses and half-finished thoughts. They’re like mini character studies, little flashes of essences and images, tiny poems. Enjoy the mystery.
