One important way to give back locally and at a nation wide level is to make your voice heard during every election.

Here are some quick facts about voter registration and our upcoming general election!

The last day to register to vote is Oct. 8, 2021.

The general election is on Nov. 2, 2021! There are candidates for local offices and NYS proposals on the ballot. Visit vote411.org for more info!

You must re-register to vote every time you change your address — this includes if you’ve moved to a new dorm on campus!

You can check if you’re registered to vote by visiting voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.

On-campus students can vote in the SUB Multi-Purpose Room.

Off-campus students can easily check their polling location by visiting voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.

Registering is simple! Visit turbovote.org to easily register online or by mail. Or, stop by the NYPIRG office in SUB 304 for a physical registration form.

Student votes matter! Only 25% of young people turn out to vote, we can help increase that number.

Civic engagement doesn’t end on election day!

Attend events hosted by and get involved with politically active organizations on campus such as NYPIRG (email: ewood@nypirg.org) and Democracy Matters (Instagram: @democracymattersnp) which both work to connect students with civic engagement opportunities.
