A Playlist For … Melancholy March

Google defines melancholy as “a feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.” In my opinion, this perfectly describes how I feel during the month of March. Midterm exams slowly creep up and the realization that graduation is only a few weeks away is daunting. Not to mention how unruly the weather patterns have been: one day I’m ready to throw on my bikini and take a dip at Deep Hole, and the next I’m thrown back into my winter hibernation mode from the depths of my bedroom. In times like this, I turn to music to cure my winter blues and hopefully get a better grip on reality. Luckily, a few of my favorite artists have released new music for me to obsess over, including the gorgeous humans that are Kacey Musgraves and Ariana Grande. Appearing alongside these lovely ladies are some sprinkles of my all-time favorite songs from The Doors and Lana Del Rey, both of which help pull me out of my seasonal sadness. I hope this playlist resonates with someone and helps to cure your late winter blues, as brighter days are soon ahead.
