Musician of the Week: Sam Smith

Sam Smith

What is your instrument of choice? Why?

Bass. I like rhythm a lot. My friend in middle school showed me his bass guitar, I really liked it. Ever since then it was my favorite thing to do.

Who are you currently listening to?

A lot of McCoy Tyner and Paul Jackson.

Who are your main influences?

Paul Jackson. Sting. Hadrien Feraud.

What do you do with music on/off-campus?

We hire only experienced writers who will provide you with professional writing services. They are able to write any paper on any subject and on the best essay writing service any complexity. All writers who work for PapersMart are graduates from universities and hold diplomas in various academic areas, including MA and PhD.

My group, The Mahopac Chord, is playing at Rock Against Racism at 4 p.m. I play with my friends back home a lot but The Mahopac Chord has been my main outlet. I did the Chamber Jazz Ensembles.

What will you do with your degree?

I try to not think about that question. I’d like to play the bass and live my life around that. If I could do anything with bass, it’d be performing original music. If I could pick one thing that would be my ultimate goal, but that’s such an unfeasible thing to happen.
